Andy James Picken is the Principal Wellbeing Consultant at The HSQE Partnership, where he leads initiatives focused on health and wellbeing within the rail industry. He is also the founder and owner of Man Beast Strongman Events, an organisation dedicated to promoting strength training and physical fitness as well as running some of the nation's biggest highland and strongman shows.
In his role at The HSQE Partnership, Andy has contributed to discussions on creating supportive workplace cultures, particularly in the context of personal and work challenges that contribute to poor or declining mental health, highlighting the importance of shaping policy frameworks to support employees during difficult times. Additionally, Andy has been involved in presentations during Rail Safety Week, where he discussed the significance of strength training in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing, the link with brain health and emphasising that building strength contributes to longer, healthier lives.
