Kirsty joined Network Rail in 2021 & is the People & Transformation Director with national accountability for industrial & employee relations. Previously HR Director at East Midlands Railway, Kirsty is an effective senior leader, with a track record of success in leading large-scale, complex people-led change in rail infrastructure, Train Operating Companies, and global businesses outside of the rail sector. Kirsty led the union negotiations on Maintenance Modernisation for Network Rail, delivered Driver Sundays in the working week for EMT and is now spearheading cultural change to stop workplace sexual harassment in rail.

A longtime supporter of skills, training and supporting the next generation into rail careers, Kirsty is Chair of the Train Driver Apprenticeship standard, which since her appointment in 2017, has achieved over 1,000 apprenticeships underway. An experienced pension trustee, Kirsty also undertakes voluntary work as a non-executive board member for NSAR and mentor for Women In Rail.
