Jala is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Glasgow. Jala has a BA in Psychology and an MA and PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology and an advanced diploma in quantitative methods from York University, Canada. She also completed a postgraduate certificate in academic practice at the University of Glasgow, UK, and is a member of the UK Trauma Council and the Glasgow Climate Change and Health Network. Jala’s clinical and research expertise are in child and youth mental health. In her research, she examines the pathways to mental health difficulties as a function of stress and adversity. She is also interested in exploring young people’s future thinking and its intersection with mental health and wellbeing.
